March 4 Day of Action to Protect Our Kids, Our Families and Our Communities
Fighting for a Better Life for All
Life is getting harder—not easier.
Instead of helping kids and families get ahead, this administration is making life harder, with:
Cuts to schools and child care
Attacks on student borrowers
Muzzling academic freedom
Cuts to healthcare and public services
Immigration raids that make communities less safe
Families are facing rising costs, while public education, higher ed, healthcare and public services are being cut or hollowed out. Immigration raids are pushing fear into schools, campuses and hospitals—places that should be safe for learning, getting needed care and belonging. Educators, healthcare workers and public employees are being stretched thinner, asked to do more with less, while kids and families pay the price.
March 4 is a nationwide day of action to protect our communities and fight for a better life for all—for opportunity, freedom, safety and affordability.
We must keep the pressure up. And pressure works.
When this administration tried to cut education funding, Congress, in a bipartisan way, stopped those cuts. When Education Secretary Linda McMahon tried to erase civil rights protections with the stroke of a pen, our legal cases stopped it. And as this administration uses violence and fear to intimidate communities, our members are building mutual aid networks and protecting our kids and communities.
It’s time, like last year, to march for (on March 4!) our kids, our families and our communities—to show the nation who we are, what we’re fighting for and what our kids, our families and our communities need.
What We’re Doing on March 4
We must:
- Put pressure on decision-makers. Demand an end to cuts to public education, higher ed, healthcare and public services—and stop immigration enforcement actions that push fear into schools, hospitals and communities.
- Make the stakes visible. Show how these attacks hurt kids, families, educators, patients and working people—and why opportunity, safety, freedom and affordability are on the line.
- Mobilize schools and communities. Bring together educators, students, parents, healthcare workers, public employees and allies for coordinated actions nationwide.
- Drive public visibility and media attention. Use rallies, marches, walk-ins, teach-ins, vigils and storytelling to make the impacts of the administration’s actions impossible to ignore.
- Lift up real stories. Highlight the voices of people living with rising costs, fear and cuts to services—and how they’re standing up for their kids and communities.
- Take action where it matters most. Organize in the communities where schools are underfunded, hospitals are understaffed and families are being pushed to the brink.
