AFT Professional/Occupational Liability Insurance (OLI)

Many locals purchase this insurance for ALL members. If your local does not purchase this coverage, then you are eligible to opt into the program for $6.00 per month, payable monthly.

Very important note: this is secondary insurance, meaning that it covers above and beyond anything that isn’t covered by your employer. This coverage is specific to the employer covered by your union membership.  If you belong to an AFT local, it covers for the employer(s) represented by that affiliate/union.  It does not cover for self-employed individuals or for employers not covered by your affiliate/union.  If you have any questions about the scope of coverage please contact AFTplus@aft.org.

Note: members who also belong to NEA as a result of a merger (in Florida, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota) may have this coverage through NEA.
