The AFT, its affiliates and members are actively working to promote sustainable practices and policies that will protect students, patients, clients and our members and every community from the coming impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. The AFT believes every student should be equipped with essential environmental literacy skills to adapt to a changing world and to maintain a good quality of life.

Building Minds, Minding Buildings
The AFT launched the national "Building Minds, Minding Buildings" campaign—to draw public attention to this growing problem of school building conditions and to arm our affiliates with the information and tools they need to be active players in the effort to build, renovate and modernize school buildings in their communities.
