A Veterans Day message from AFT Secretary-Treasurer Lorretta Johnson

From Portland, Ore., to Peoria, Ill., from Baltimore, Md., to Birmingham, Ala., I've seen veterans who have committed themselves to serving our country and have selflessly sacrificed for the freedoms our country holds dear. No matter where in the world they have served, when they return from duty many continue to serve their communities—in classrooms, government buildings, factories and airports all across this country.

On this Veterans Day, let us redouble our efforts to reclaim the promise of America for all our veterans, a promise that their country will serve them as well as they have served their country.
