Greening our Public Infrastructure
Public schools, colleges, universities, and hospitals are major energy consumers and significant sources of greenhouse gases, that is why AFT has committed to decarbonizing our public infrastructure. Our advocacy for a greener future helped win billions of dollars in federal investments in clean energy public infrastructure. And our work with the Blue Green Alliance and the Climate Jobs National Resource Center brings together labor unions and environmental groups in collaboration to drive a "just transition" to a clean energy economy, creating sustainable, high-wage union jobs while addressing climate change.
