– President Obama's elevation of Wilma Liebman to chair the National Labor Relations Board signifies a commitment to return this agency to its proper role of defending and advancing democracy in the workplace. We cannot say it better than Liebman herself, who, in accepting the appointment, said that "democracy in the workplace is still basic to a democratic society, and collective bargaining is still basic to a fair economy." She is well-prepared and highly qualified to lead a reconstituted and revitalized NLRB. We look forward to working with her in the years ahead.
