WASHINGTON—The American Federation of Teachers' TEACH conference opens today at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, featuring AFT President Randi Weingarten's keynote address and a press availability to follow. More than 2,000 teachers and other educators from across the country will be attending.

In her speech, Weingarten will discuss her vision and agenda to reclaim the promise of public education. The AFT also will be releasing the results of a nationwide poll in which parents of public school students say what they want for their kids.
