Maine undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in education are eligible for $3,000 and $2,000, respectively, for their studies. These are renewable loans forgiven by teaching in Maine public elementary and secondary schools upon graduation. Eligible recipients graduate in the upper 25 percent of their high school class, or graduate from college with a 3.0 GPA or above. Applicants may also have a bachelor's degree in education with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, or be planning to pursue graduate work leading to teacher certification. Applications are due each spring.
