Personally, I am not sure what our plan is. In the past four years, I believe we've had information for this sort of problem passed on to us once or twice. To my recollection, there has been no practice drill.  Simply, no. It's not enough.

The college I work for has talked about new security measures, but that is as far as it's gotten, talk. Nothing concrete has come of it. Sure we now are e-mailing items throughout the college, but for those of us not tied to a computer, that news is often not given in time. I drive a bus for the college and need to know when the campus is at risk so I don't drive into a situation I might not be able to get out of.
Michael Schmitz, Owens Support Staff Union, OH

In my opinion security threats are among the minor issues of the university. We lose highly educated and dedicated people all the time due to the dearth of full-time tenure line positions. Security issues are a way of diverting attention from the many issues of education with which we are faced
Paul G. Shane, Rutgers Council of AAUP Chapters, PA

We have heard there is a committee and there has been since the shooting at NIU/Illinois but we have no information except to sign up for emergency email for our cell phones. No written plan has been developed and no meetings across campus for suggestions, etc. Greatly disappointed in how this whole thing has been handled.
