Address all aspects of income inequality; causes, policies, harm to individuals, tax code loopholes, etc

I want the president to END corporate welfare. I also want him to support legislation that strips CEO's of their US citizenship when they move operations overseas.

I hope that President Obama will say that his policies have been wrong and he is now going to change his ways. He should say socialism and "sharing the wealth" goes against the U.S. Constitution & the American Dream. Taxing working Americans more in order to GIVE to those who refuse to work or won't get their education is WRONG! Students are guaranteed the right to a free public education through the 12th grade. If everyone knew there were no government handouts, then we might have students who come to school to learn because they would see they needed the education in order to survive & thrive. Otherwise, he and Biden should resign.

I am a teacher and I also own a small business. The teaching load and responsibilities have increased, but pay and benefits have decreased. My business was started at the beginning of the recession and has been kept afloat by my teaching salary. The business has massive credit card debt and the cc interest rates and minimum payments have gone up phenominally EVEN THOUGH I PAY ON TIME. I cannot qualify for any small business loans as my debt to income ratio is terrible. I have other friends with small businesses and they are in the same boat. I cannot even refinance my car or house. Where are our incentives and tax breaks? We need help!!!

I wand Obama to back the Windfall Elimination Provision that takes 60% of my Socical Security Pension because I also was a Public School Teacher. I did not double dip, I earned my SS Pension working for 45 years at a part time job. The SS pension I earned is spent on Meds, food, gasolene, rent, utilities and health care costs. This goes right back into the local economy to stimulate the USA economy and not into the Middle East where all the money goes to blow up and kill people and into the pockets of the rich and powerfull rulers. I do not want SS and Mecicare benefits to be cut.

President Obama, You would be better served to promote CURES for diseases rather than healthcare. Where are the cures? We are not going to be, as humans, a source of revenue. Take this very seriously, I know there have been cures. As President, why have you not stood with us and asked for at least 5 cures, not treatments for major diseases? Cures would solve your problems with the economy. Thank you, Lillian Harrod

My wife and I are both retired. We are relatively comfortable due to our pensions, social security, and medicare. But without those we would be in a world of hurt. Please do not allow changes to right to work laws that allow fair collective bargaining; changes to social security - given the stock markets can you imagine individual retirements based on investing in the stock market? Or a national health care plan that does not make affordable health care possible. Yes, each of us needs to fund our retirement years with planned savings and investments of some sort. The proposed alternatives so far, just won't work.

I've seen higher store prices with less salary increases. I'm paying more for health insurance and yet I find the healthcare now worse compared to 20 to 30 years ago. As a teacher, I feel not only that the education system is the usual U.S. scapegoat but also a specific target of intense and immense hatred. Therefore I'm teaching with less resources to more challenging students with the expectation that student learning will increase at unprecedented levels despite the condition schools find themselves. I see jobs and money sent overseas while parents here scrape by, working at McDonalds if they're lucky. Be honest & speak from the heart.

President Obama, Will u please help the teachers! I am so tired of coming to work and our superiors reminding us that we have 30 mil dollars to cut from the budget! The principals make the teachers feel like they are unwanted and easily to be replaced by cheaper workers! This is commonly happening in Tx because the education budget is running dry! Our republican governor, Rick perry is not using the rainy day fund or any money that the federal government is offering! The educators are getting the brunt of this because there are not a lot of degrees job options being offered! Therefore we feel stuck. Will please help bring back jobs to USA?

While I haven't been adversely affected in this economy, aside from my pension investments taking a steep drop, my primary concern deals with the way unions have been treated in our country. I seem to recall President Obama pledging during his first campaign to make it easier for employees to vote to have a union and their employers to recognize them. What I've seen in the past three years are vicious and direct attacks on state employees and unions as a whole. If President Obama is re-elected and has a friendlier Congress to replace the radical conservatives, what can we expect from him in terms of helping workers and unions?

President Obama should've kept all his promises before being elected. What happened aftermath? I have friend who lost their jobs, houses and other equities. Yes because of the lack of leadership and decision making. Obama should stop spending money on sending troops overseas. What are our benefits from these actions?

I want to see more equity in our country in terms of economics, food, and education. Every person in our country should be able to work at a decent job, make enough money to provide food and shelter to their family, and get quality healthcare. We need jobs and we need to end poverty. These are ways to restore the middle class so that our economy can function. I am in support of unions and protecting decent wages for both private and public workers. Corporations are not people!

I would like to see greater influence over the states to increase funding to public schools, especially in states where teachers are paid less than most other states. I would like see those who backed the war in Iraq pay the necessary taxes.

Bail out banks and insurance companies- is a total failure- we have to make banks follow through and listen the instruction . no banks approving loans, they used bail money to acquire asset for them. To fix the economy, you have to fix housing market, to recover housing, we have to have some incentives for the investors. widien refinancing opprtunites to the investment propertis. to improve domestric industries , raise import duties, keep social security and medicare well funded.disburse faniemay and fredimac, hold them liable for the wasting of federal funds. take action anybody who did inside trading and that includes congressmen and senetor

Need to Energize America with a bold National Energy Initiative-60% of America's transportation system (cars, buses, trucks, cycles) to be Electric/Natural Gas powered vehicles that can achieve 600+ miles/day using solar power/hydrogen/natural gas within 10 years-that's 2022. This would eliminate oil imports entirely!

What will you do to give full employment, We just heard state of NY may close state teaching hospital; the loss of a job or potential loss is terrifying; this is the terrorism that needs stopping.

I would like to know how he intends to personally take leadership in the Congress and get things done? From what I hear he needs to be more of a behind the scenes arm-twister than a critic of the GOP. If things get done in the next few months his election is assured, if not I MIGHT STAY HOME THIS ELECTION. Heaven knows what a mess will prevail if the Repubs win, but I am tired of these parties, isn't there another way? Maybe we should have proportional representation instead of what we have now, winner take all to the biggest spenders.

I know you support Social Security Fairness. I am unable to retire because I can't draw any of the Social Security that I paid in or that my ex-husband of 18 years paid in. Please see that this unfair law is changed while you are in office. It has bi-partisan support so there shouldn't be any opposition to it. It would mean so much to most Texas teachers and also many police and firemen. Thank you, Carolyn Parsons

The economic problem did not occur during President Obama's administration but before he was elected into office....How and when will the Republicans stop their childish antics and get this country back to work

Due to budget cuts, my position at a middle school was eliminated. My responsibilites were to assist non English speaking students understand and make improvement in their academic classes. Eliminating this extra help lessens the possibilies of these students being successful and eventually rising above the poverty level.

Dear President Obama, EDUCATION is key as Jennifer Granholm demonstrated, for the young and ALL who want to "learn" for the future. Education must be, in large part dedicated to jobs that dovetail into RENEWABLE ENERGY. REBUILD RAILROAD SYSTEMs -This is job creation and energy conservation. REBUILD OUR MILLS. We must produce some textiles here, using new methods, renewable fibers, & state of the art equipment. THE SAME FOR STEEL ETC. We can’t reverse time, but we must be more self sufficientin in an unstable world & produce some tangable products TAX INCENTIVES SMALL/ MEDIUM business & FAMILY FARMS. Think MRS. Obama on that one.

It is getting harder to buy food due to huge increases in cost. I sincerely hope that the President will use all of the info the Republican Party has so willingly furnished us in their debates. I would think that anyone hearing the debates would run, not walk, away from all Republicans trying to get the office of President. They have very unwisely exposed all of their shortcomings, thank you. This is just plain dumb. Do we want someone that dumb as President? I understand that some of them usurped music without permission of the creator. I found one of them using a phrase I coined but they didn't search me out and get my permission.
