California Teachers Association
This Bargaining Advisory highlights the need for teachers unions to negotiate the impact of Response to Intervention on members’ wages, hours and workload. It provides a guide for the negotiation process that describes how to write a Demand to Bargain, what provisions to include and key questions to ask management. Additionally, it includes a sample Demand to Bargain and a brief summary of RTI. The document was written by the California Teachers Association.

Santa Barbara Teachers Association
This is a Tentative Agreement that addresses how to implement Response to Intervention in schools while protecting teachers’ rights. It negotiates the protocol of changing teachers’ roles, supporting general education and special education teachers, and evaluating the RTI model. It was created collaboratively by the Santa Barbara Teachers Association and Santa Barbara School Districts.
