Pointers for PSRP: Health & Safety Tips

    Print

Every day, you devote much of your energy and time to guarding the safety and health of children. It's an essential part of every school employee's job.  This page and the links to the right ask you to shift your focus, for a moment, to the ways school hazards affect your health and well-being.

Despite our best efforts, school environments can pose serious hazards to school staff.  For too many school employees, work-related injuries and illnesses continue to be a common fact of life.   Fortunately, there are ways to prevent or reduce exposure to most of these hazards.  Pointers examines ten areas of concern with some practical advice on steps that you can take to protect yourself.

At the same time, AFT recognizes that individuals can only do so much to change dangerous conditions.  In the end, the union is the best avenue for getting improvements in the workplace.  For further information, contact the AFT Health and Safety Program at (800) 238-1133 extension 5674.
