Are you attending school to advance your career or to become a better representative for the union? Is there a graduating senior in your family? Would you like help with the cost of tuition?

Visit the AFT PLUS Member Benefits section of the AFT Web site (www.aft.org/aftplus/scholarships/index.htm) today to apply for the 2005 Robert G. Porter Scholars Program.

The competition is open to all AFT members and the children of AFT members who will be graduating from high school in 2005. Under the program, which was established in 1992 to honor Porter who served as AFT secretary-treasurer from 1963 until his death in 1991, four $8,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors and $1,000 grants are given to union members who are continuing their education.

To obtain an application by mail, please send a request to the American Federation of Teachers, Robert G. Porter Scholars Program, 555 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC, 20001. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2005, to receive consideration.
