More than 280 RNs at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., voted in an NLRB election on Nov. 16 and 17. Results of the vote were not tallied until Dec. 6 when impounded ballots were released. The employer had made a request for review to the NLRB, contending that another of its hospitals should be included in the unit. Menorah Medical Center is considered one of the premier hospitals in Kansas City. (More news about this victory will be in the next issue of Healthwire.)

Special thanks go to nurses from other FNHP affiliates who volunteered for the Menorah campaign: Linda Larson, RN from New York State United Teachers; Barbara Eggar, RN from Health Professionals and Allied Employees; and Maureen Szymanski, RN from Wisconsin FNHP.
