Test your math and science skills against students worldwide

Getsmarter.org (www.getsmarter.org), an initiative of the Council on Competitiveness, gives students, parents and teachers a free and private way to compare science and math skills of students worldwide. The site was created in response to the startling results of the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), which showed that U.S. students who scored above average in math and science in fourth grade were near or at the bottom by 12th grade compared to their peers in other countries. That is, TIMSS showed that U.S. students do progressively worse as they advance through the grades when compared to the rest of the world.

This animated, interactive site provides test questions (called "The Real Challenge") for elementary, middle and high school students. The site also provides warm-up practice quizzes in math and science, and site visitors can instantly compare their performance with that of students around the world.
