Summer Learning Calendar available

Summer vacation shouldn't mean a vacation from learning. The AFT's Summer Learning Calendar provides entertaining and educational facts and activities to help students sharpen their minds and spark their imaginations during the summer. The 2001 edition of "The Summer Times" has an international theme, with interesting facts about countries and customs spanning the globe. The calendar is suited to children ages 8 to 12.

The calendar corresponds to the "Learning Line," AFT's toll-free (800/242-5465) educational recording for students, which changes weekly throughout the year. From June through August, the activities and lessons in "The Summer Times" and the "Learning Line" will be linked. These educational offerings provide teachers with a positive way to reach out to their communities and to encourage youngsters' enthusiasm for learning year-round.

The Summer Learning Calendar costs 25 cents each; $20 per 100. Only orders accompanied by a check will be filled. Available on a first-come, first-served basis. Write to: Summer Learning Calendar, AFT Public Affairs Department, 555 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20001. The calendar is also available for download in pdf format.
