Statement by Randi Weingarten, President, American Federation of Teachers,
On the Return of UNITE HERE to the AFL-CIO

PITTSBURGH—We welcome the return of UNITE HERE to the AFL-CIO. This is an important step toward labor unity, which will enable America’s labor movement to work with a unified voice and purpose on behalf of every working American. We hope this can serve as a bridge to achieve our crucial goal of a strong, growing and unified labor movement.
