On Sen. Harkin’s Chairmanship of Senate Health, Education, Labor and
Pensions Committee
WASHINGTON—Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, is an excellent choice to chair the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Sen. Harkin is a long-time champion of working Americans, our public education system, and the rights of people with disabilities. He also is committed to affordable, accessible, high-quality healthcare. The AFT looks forward to working with him on these issues.
