What’s Happening on Saturday at the AFT Convention

CHICAGO – Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) will address the more than 3,000 delegates to the American Federation of Teachers convention on Saturday, July 12, at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

When:  Session starts Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
Who:  Mayor Richard Daley greets delegates
           Sen. Hillary Clinton follows
Where:  Chicago’s Navy Pier, Festival Hall B
(Press credentials are available at the AFT Press Office in Navy Pier’s Festival Hall A.)

Following the convention’s afternoon business session, the delegates will rally at Resurrection Health Care’s Saint Joseph Hospital to support the hospital employees and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, who have met years of resistance to union organizing.

When:  Saturday, 5 p.m.
Where:  Lincoln Park Grove 13, at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive West and Wellington Ave., across from Saint Joseph Hospital.
