AFT Signs Forum on Educational Accountability’s
Joint Organizational Statement on NCLB
Washington, D.C– The American Federation of Teachers today announced it has signed, with 110 others, the Forum on Educational Accountability’s Joint Organizational Statement on the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
The statement calls on Congress to make NCLB less punitive and more supportive of practices that improve student achievement. Its recommendations parallel many of those made by the AFT’s NCLB task force.
