WASHINGTON—American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten will take the union’s “Making a Difference Every Day” tour to Marlboro, N.Y., tomorrow, Friday, to visit schools and highlight the district’s collaborative approach to education reform that was used to develop its new teacher evaluation system.

Weingarten will join Marlboro Faculty Association President Joe Pesavento, Marlboro Superintendent of Schools Raymond Castellani, teachers, leaders of the New York State United Teachers, and others on a tour of three schools, a roundtable discussion of the new evaluation procedure and a news conference.

“Marlboro might be a small district, but its teachers and district officials are doing big things, working collaboratively to create a teaching and learning environment that makes a difference in the lives of students today, and laying a foundation for a bright future,” Weingarten said.

Reporters are welcome to join Weingarten and the others for the school tours, the roundtable discussion and the press conference.
