Helping in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS Welcome to the AFT-Africa AIDS Campaign home page. Our campaign is a multi-year, multi-country project of the AFT Educational Foundation (AFTEF) to raise resources for African teacher unions for AIDS prevention, counseling and care programs for their members.
Our fundraising efforts began in 2002, primarily through the sale of a commemorative pin and wristbands. The AFT-Africa AIDS Campaign has raised more than $175,000 for these vitally important efforts. In addition, we have obtained substantial help from other sources, including the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Education International (EI) and other sources.
Tax-deductible contributions should be made out to the AFT Educational Foundation; checks should be sent to AFTEF, 555 New Jersey Ave. N.W., Washington, DC 20001. (Write "AFT-Africa AIDS" in the memo portion of the check.)
