Share My Lesson Wins Hermes Innovation Award for Improvement of Human Relation
Share My Lesson has been awarded the 2014 Hermes Award for Innovation in the category of Improvement of Human Relation at the 7th National Meeting for Chief Innovation Officers held in Paris, France. The award is given to companies that provide a distinction of excellence for humanistic innovations. The European Institute for Creative Strategies and Innovation, a think tank dedicated to innovation and the renewal of businesses across Europe, has organized the Hermes Awards since 2009.
A joint venture of the American Federation of Teachers and TES Connect, Share My Lesson provides free, online K-12 teaching resources, including activities, worksheets and lesson plans. The site–developed by teachers, for teachers–provides an online community where educators can easily search and share teaching resources and collaborate on best teaching practices.
"It is a great honor to accept the Hermes Award from such a distinguished international organization," said Share My Lesson board member David Sherman. "Teachers are hungry for high-quality resources to use with their students, and they applaud the good work of their colleagues every day on our website. Today, the AFT and TES Connect are honored for the recognition bestowed upon our teaching community."
In just two years, Share My Lesson adds this honor to the following list of accomplishments:
• 2014 SIIA CODiE Award for Best Crowd-Sourced Solution;
• More than 530,000 subscribers;
• More than 300,000 resources, including a collection of over 31,000 Common Core-aligned resources; and
