AFT Seeks Teacher Input on Student Assessment Practices
In today's education policy environment, too many people with little knowledge about the teaching profession, and often no classroom experience, are defining what good teaching practice looks like and how it should be measured. The AFT is working to refocus these efforts—and move the conversation away from making student performance on standardized tests the main factor in defining effective schools and teachers.
Teachers' voices can and should be a central part of this discussion. One way to make your voice heard is by completing this survey about how you assess student learning. The results will inform the AFT's ongoing work on teacher development and evaluation.
