The Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana reports that September benefit payments have been processed. All direct deposits have been made as scheduled and paper checks that can be delivered have been mailed. Paper checks for Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles and St. Tammany Parishes are not being delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. For details and instructions, go to the TRSL Web site at http://trsl.org.

The Louisiana School Employees' Retirement System reports that it is holding paper retiree checks for those whose ZIP codes have the following first three digits: 700, 701, 704 and Grand Isle in 703. Retirement checks for these areas can be picked up at the LSERS headquarters in Baton Rouge (8660 United Plaza Blvd.) or recipients can arrange to have their checks mailed to a temporary address. For details go to http://www.lsers.state.la.us.

For retired Mississippi public employees, all retiree checks for Sept. 1, 2005, were either mailed or sent by direct deposit as normal. However, the U.S. Postal Service will not be able to deliver checks to many retirees, particularly those who live along the Gulf Coast. Retirees in ZIP codes beginning with 395 can pick up checks at regional postal facilities. For details, go to the state's Public Employees' Retirement System Web site at http://www.pers.state.ms.us/.
