VP Louis MalfaroAFT Vice President
Louis Malfaro is president of Education Austin, the first merged AFT-NEA affiliate in Texas. Malfaro began working as a bilingual elementary school teacher in 1987 and has been president/co-president of Education Austin since 1999.

Prior to the creation of Education Austin, Malfaro served as president of the Austin Federation of Teachers, from 1992-1999.

Malfaro is a member of the AFT Teachers program and policy council and a member of the AFT organizing committee. Malfaro serves on the governing boards of the Texas AFT and Texas State Teachers Association.
