Sandra Irons

VP Sandra IronsAFT Vice President
Sandra Irons is president of the Gary Teachers Union.  Irons has been a vice president since 1974.  She has been a member of the Gary Teachers Union since 1961, teaching math at the Gary Community School Corporation for 10 years.

Irons has served as an AFT delegate to many conventions of the International Federation of Free Trade Unions and a delegate to the Jewish Labor Committee’s 10th Annual Labor Seminar, 1999.

Irons has a B.S. degree in mathematics and chemistry from Kentucky State College and an M.A. from Purdue University.
