The Orange County Service Unit is a 7,000 member local option unit covering two local Associations and one retired group. The Orange County Classroom Teachers Association is an urban K-12 teacher Association of 5,400 members. The Orange Education Support Professionals Association (1650 members) represents all classified employees with a large organizing potential. The Orange County CTA-Retired has an active membership of 300 comprised of both classified and instructional retirees. Each of the two locals is recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for unit members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) Assists members with labor relations issues.
(2) Serves as primary contact person for Association Representatives/Stewards within an assigned area.
(3) Takes responsibility for program development and implementation in one or more of the following areas: membership promotion, bargaining, contract enforcement, instruction and professional development, leadership development/training, and organizing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with Association work as a leader or staff. Experience as a teacher or education support professional is desirable. Must have excellent communication and writing skills; bi-lingual desired.
COMPENSATION:
Salary schedule: $52,785-$79,977 depending on experience and

Individual medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and paid holidays. A new salary schedule will be negotiated in the summer of 2007.
